The Black Ink logo designed by Nicole Nagle (www.bhyve.com) is based on an oak leaf, reference to the fact that oak galls are a major ingredient in the production of black ink - http://www.knaw.nl/ecpa/ink/make_ink.html. The leaf also has the appearance of a Rorschach ink blot used in psychological analysis - don't you think? http://www.rorschach.com/test.html. The logo was designed by Nicole Nagle as part of an illustration in her "Alphabet of the Botanical" series, exhibited in 2001. Many thanks to the very talented Nicole! |
